Task

Task Information

There is information about the task in the task screen: task name, store information, brief description of the task, visit ID.  

Task Help

There is a "?" button in the upper right corner of the task screen. Tap it to see help on the task. In case the task help is unavailable, "?" button might not be present.  

What to do in case the task cannot be completed

There is a Cannot Execute button at the bottom of the task screen. Tap it to see a list of reasons the task cannot be completed. After selecting a reason, you will be taken back to the visit screen, and the task will be marked complete. Cannot Execute button may not be available if the task doesn’t have an option to refuse execution.   If you don’t have a Cannot Execute button, and the task is marked as mandatory, take any photo or answer the mandatory questions. You can indicate the reasons for the task failure later in the task results.   If the task is not mandatory, return to the visit screen and start another task.  

Taking a photo

In order to take a photo, tap the Take Photo button at the bottom of the task screen. The camera window will open. Select an object and press the round button at the bottom of the screen. A photo will be taken. If you have an internet connection, the photo will immediately start uploading for recognition. There is a photo counter in the lower left corner of the screen, which shows the number of photos you took in a particular task.   At the top of the screen, you will see the task name. Make sure the photos are taken in the right task.   Thumbnails of all task photos are displayed at the bottom of the screen. If you tap a thumbnail, a full screen photo view will open, where some additional functions will be available:    - delete the photo;  - retake the photo;  - crop the photo (may be absent, depending on the settings).   To improve your results, see the Photo Taking Rules.   After you take all the photos, tap the “✓” button in the lower right corner of the screen to return to the task screen.  

What to do in case the application doesn’t allow you to take a photo

The most common reasons why you can’t take a photo are:    - Poor sharpness. The application has a built-in Photo Quality Assessment function. When this function is turned on, blurry photos will be automatically detected, and a “Poor sharpness has been detected” message will appear, with Retake and Use buttons. The Use button may be missing. Tap Retake to take another photo.  - Wrong perspective. Photos should be taken strictly frontally. Photos taken at an angle to the shelves are considered having the wrong perspective. The application has a built-in Photo Quality Assessment function. If you have this function on, once an incorrect perspective is detected, a “Wrong perspective has been detected” message will appear, with Retake and Use buttons. The Use button may be missing. Tap Retake to take another photo.  - Device is out of storage space. If there is not enough memory space on your device to save the photo, a message will appear. To continue taking photos, free up space in device storage.  - No permission to access the camera. If the camera window does not open in your application, and a message appears stating that the camera has not been given permissions, go to the system settings and give the application the necessary access permissions. See Installing and Updating the Application for more detail.  - Black screen. If you see the black screen in the camera window, and a message stating that the camera service is not available, please reboot your device.  

Using the Panorama mode

If the object doesn’t fit the photo frame, use the Panorama mode. The Panorama button is located:    - Android application: in the upper right corner of the screen.  - iOS application: in the upper left corner of the screen.   When you tap the panorama icon, the shooting mode changes. The following modes are available in the application: single photo, right to left panorama, left to right panorama, top to bottom, bottom to top.   Consider the panorama shooting mode from left to right, using an example of a long shelf with goods. Go to the left edge of the shelf and take the first photo. After that, a translucent right side of the photo will appear on the left side of the screen. This is a hint that helps you to combine the objects that you see on the screen with the objects on the translucent part of the previous photo. Take a couple of steps to the right, and align the translucent part with the corresponding view of the shelves. Take another photo. Continue to take consecutive photographs in this way until the entire object is photographed entirely. Then tap the “✓” button in the lower right corner of the screen, and end the shooting mode. Shooting is done similarly in other panorama modes, the difference being only the direction.  

Using flash

You can use the flash, if necessary, and if you have it on your device. The flash button is located in the photo window, in the upper right corner of the screen. The application has several built in modes:    - without flash;  - with flash;  - automatic flash;  - flashlight mode (Android only).  

Using zoom

You cannot use zoom when taking photos.  

Viewing photos

To view a photo, tap the photo thumbnail. The photo will open in full screen. You can enlarge the photo, as well as scroll left and right to view other photos of the task.  

Cropping a photo

To crop a photo, tap the photo thumbnail. The photo will open in a full screen mode. Tap the Crop button in the upper right corner.    - In the Android application: colored round markers will appear at the corners of the photo. Select the needed area and tap Ok. The photo will be cropped.  - In the iOS application: a rectangular area will appear, with which you can select the needed section of the photo. Tap Finish to crop.   You can change the cropping settings later, if necessary.   If the visit has already been closed, this function will not be available.   Depending on the project settings, the crop option may not be available.  

Deleting a photo

To delete a photo, tap the photo thumbnail. The photo will open in a full screen mode, where the Delete button will be available. Tap it to delete.   If the visit has already been closed, this function will not be available.  

Retaking a photo

To retake a photo, tap the photo thumbnail. The photo will open in a full screen mode, where the Retake button will be available. The Retake function allows you to replace a bad photo without breaking the sequence of photos. This is important when merging photos on the server, especially in the Panorama mode.   If the visit has already been closed, this function will not be available.  

Checking a photo upload status

In the photo window, a marker will be displayed on each thumbnail. By this marker you can see the current photo upload status.    - "✓" means that the photo was successfully uploaded.  - "✓ ✓" means that the photo has been successfully processed and participates in the results.  - "!" means that the photo does not meet the photo quality criteria, but is still taken into account in the visit results.   You can see the details of photo uploading status if you tap the thumbnail.  

What if the photo does not load

1. Check the uploading queue. After taking, the photos are uploaded to the server automatically, one by one. New photos start uploading only once the previous ones are uploaded. 2. Check if uploading is paused. Resume upload in this case. 3. Check your internet connection. 4. Restart the application. 5. Reboot the device. 6. Contact the Helpdesk.  

Answering the questionnaire questions

The questionnaire is an electronic form with questions on the current assignment. When your device is online, the answers are immediately uploaded to the server, and the visit results are updated. After answering a question, a button for deleting appears.    - In the Android application, once the response is successfully uploaded, the question will be highlighted with a green frame. If the upload fails, the question will be highlighted with a red frame.  - In the iOS application, the uploaded answer is highlighted in blue.   Answers to the questionnaire questions may be:    - Yes or No;  - selection of one or more options from the list;  - text;  - number;  - barcode or QR code.   The questionnaire may contain mandatory questions, without which the task is not considered completed. Mandatory questions are marked:   - In the Android application: in bold, and with a * mark at the end of the question. - In the iOS application: a vertical red bar to the left of the question.  

Deleting a questionnaire answer

- Android application: tap the Questions tab. On the right side of the question you want to delete the answer to, tap the Trash icon. A confirmation will appear: “Do you really want to delete the answer?”. Tap OK, and the answer will be deleted. - iOS application: tap the Survey tab. On the right side of the question you want to delete the answer to, tap the Trash icon. A confirmation will appear: “Do you really want to delete the answer?”. Tap OK, and the answer will be deleted.   If you close a visit, this feature will not be available.   The Trash icon appears in the question only after you have answered it.  

Adding or removing an item manually

In case it is not possible to add a product using photos, you can add this product manually. Go to the Product Range tab in the task window. At the bottom of the screen, click the Add button. A product search box will appear. Start entering the name of the product or brand, then tap the product you need in the search results. A window with product information will appear. Indicate here the quantity and price of the product, and whether the product is involved in promotions. At the bottom of the screen, click the Add button. The product will be added to the product list in the Product Range tab.   To delete an item, tap the Product Range tab in the task window. A list of items will appear. Tap the product you want to delete. A product viewing window will open. To the right of the quantity of goods, tap the Delete button. A window will pop up to confirm the deletion. If you are sure that you need to delete this product, tap Yes.   Adding, editing and deleting an item is not possible if the visit is already closed.   This tab may not be available if the option to manually edit the product range is not active for the project, or for the task.  

Task Results

You will see the task results in the task window, under the Results tab. The task results are generated after you complete the task. Final results do not come to you straight away, as they are processed in several stages on the server, depending on the number of completed tasks. When results are updated, a green marker will appear at the top of the screen. To update the results, drag down and release the results pane. A download indicator will appear. Wait for the download to finish, and then the results will be updated.  

Indicating the reason for the lack of goods

In the task screen, go to Results tab. Find the list of missing products in results. Each missing item will have a Reason link. When you tap this link, a window with a list of reasons for lacking the goods will appear. Select a reason and tap it.   If you have chosen the Recognition Error reason, you will be asked to take the additional photos of the product. Take the necessary photos following instructions on the screen.   This function may not be available, depending on the project settings.
